On fathers day this year, I forgot to get my camera out to take a picture of myself with my dad (which is actually in my favor since I had no makeup on and hadnt brushed my hair - due to me losing it in the car on the ride back from KC). Anyhow, my mom did get this picture - again see the trend in our family...we're all about music!! Some of my fondest memories of my dad revolve around music. In the house I grew up in we used to turn the music up loud and my sister, my dad, my mom and I would dance on the "stage" (the brick that was laid our for the wood burning stove). The songs went from "smooth....rough" by MC Hammer, to garth brooks "The thunder rolls" back to "brown eyed girls" by the commodores. Our dog buster would curl up on the corner of the blue couch and watch it all take place. I think (and Im sure many people say this) I may have had the best childhood ever - and this was in big part thanks to my dad. Growing up he was always the person I could go to when I wanted to have fun, wanted ice cream (hes a sucker for ice cream), and wanted a real opinion on my hair (sometimes unwarranted comments as well :!!). He was also my catcher, my dance partner (in the basement, as well as every wedding), my coach, my teacher, and many many more things. Now he is my handyman, my go to for car problems, house problems, basically anything and everything! I know I say this all the time, that I am so lucky to have this person in my life - but my dad is the most amazing dad anyone could ever have. Honestly, I could not ask for anything more in a dad. Hes always someone I can trust and count on - and now he is the best grandpa my kids could ask for. Thanks dad for being you. I know Kyle feels the same way - you have become one of his best friends. Nicole was definitly right, I married someone just like my dad...its almost scary! Thanks again for being you - I love you!
