Shake yo' booty
Doing what our family does best...heading to the listening room, blaring the music and shaking out butt! Camdyn has always loved this...but this was Cades first jam session...turns out hes got a lot of Bouwens/Zobel in him - as he loved it!! He may not look much like me but hes got a lot of me in him :)!

Cade Evin is here!!
And he is already making us the happiest family! Camdyn is so excited to be a big sister, and we are so happy to have another healthy baby!

Delivery went great...it was the aftermath that got me this time! Needless to say I went in to the hospital with a cold...and came out with a broken tail bone and dislocated toe (oh and a wonderful baby too!)!! Not exactly what I had anticipated! Basically Thursday night and Friday night were pretty rough, but I got through it with everyones help (no thanks to the student nurse). The student nurse thought it was time for me to walk (They had just taken my epidural out!!) I told her I didnt think I was ready but she pushed me to do it anyways. Well I was right - I still could not feel my legs and I went tumbling to the ground. This is where the broken tailbone and dislocated toe come in. The Ortho doctor had to come in to reset my toe and now I am stuck in a walking boot for 4 weeks!
Either way we ended up with a beautiful baby boy!

Pregnant Besties
So Sarah, one of my lifelong best friends is also pregnant - just 5 weeks behind me. However, judging by our tummies it looks like I am so much farther ahead!! Its been so fun being pregnant with her - we can compare notes all the time on how things are going and can complain about the same things! I cant wait to move on with this next step in life - with our sons growing up together! She has been there for me throughout this pregnancy - and I am so thankful we are friends - she is always checking on me to make sure I am doing well...even though she too needs to be checked on. Thats the kind of friend she is...for instance today we went to lunch, her with her two boys in tote - and she's worrying about opening the door for me (I was sans Camdyn). She of course looks gorgeous pregnant - and I look, well, super uncomfertable :)!! See for yourselves!!

What a healthy bunch we are...
So currently we are 6 days away from meeting our new little one...and no one is perfectly healthy. Camdyn has a sinus infection that she is on antibiotics for, Kyle has been breaking out in hives and we dont know why, and I have an eye infection. Yuck...we need to get healthy because Cade will be here sooo soon!! Luckily I think we are on the upswing of things although last night was one of the worst nights as far as sleeping goes...and I know we have many more of those to come!! Here is a pic of me today - the belly is dropping!!
Big girl bed
So I broke the cardinal rule of parenting - letting your child sleep with you!! It all started when we were having threats at Ameritas and were surrounded by police everyday, were watched as we walked to our car - and basically just felt so insecure about going to work - and really life in general. Then there were many break ins happening, and with these pregnancy hormones I just gave in to my weakness...ANYHOW - I wanted my baby close to me so I had her sleep with me. I thought it would be a one night thing...but it turns out bed time was just so much easier when she just came to bed with me. Lame excuse...I know - and I am the first to admit it. Now, the process of getting her back to her room had to happen before this new baby came home - or we would be in a bedtime nightmare for who knows how long. So the first night I put Cam in her room - and it was an hour (probably more like 15 minutes...because I felt so awful) of screaming...sweating...throwing up - basically just not the way I wanted my baby to fall asleep. So I gave in. Again she crawled in bed with me...and we both slept very peacefully. The next night I knew I had to try harder. So I layed in bed with her until she fell asleep and then I went to my own bed. Sounds easy enough...NOPE. Around 2 o'clock here the little princess was crawling in bed with me, scolding me for leaving her. Night number three - it was Dads turn. Camdyn had already told daddy that she wanted him to sleep with her...because mommy leaves. Nice - my two year old daughter is emotionally scarred because I left her alone. Needless to say daddy stayed with her all night - and guess what that really doesnt solve our problem!! So night number 4 I tried reasoning with her, obviously she understands what is going on...since she is tattling on me to everyone that I left her alone in her room. So I had a long talk about how all the other girls at daycare have there own room, they sleep in there alone, I talked to her about how she is a big girl now, we decorated her room just for her, basically just confirmed that this is what should be happening and that I think she can handle it. So I read her a book, she reads it back to me...I tell her I will stay in there 5 more minutes and then I will be in the living room. She says to me...ok mommy but leave the door open. So I give her a kiss, say goodnight and leave the door open. I go to the living room and she doesnt follow - I check on her 5 minutes later and she is asleep. The little girl just has to be reasoned with!! Apparantly the door being shut was a big problem (if you remember a post from before where she used to sleep on the floor in front of her door...she just wanted to see under the door to make sure we were there). Anyhow - after the long post...we finally have our little girl sleeping in her big girl bed...in her own room!! Now to transition the dogs out of our room :)!

Zobel Family Reunion
It was really the first time all the Zobels have gotten together for a family reunion. Unfortunatly I am on bedrest so I wasnt able to participate in many events. Luckily I was able to sit around my parents house on Friday night when many of the family members came over. The family was great, and everyone loved getting to see my grandpa who is the only surviving sibling (minus toots who is in a nursing home in Iowa - and unfortunatly has Alzheimers and does not remember anyone). My grandpa is an amazing person, I have always known that, however it was amazing to see the outpour of everyones emotions when they got to see him. He really has impacted all their lives as well - and I feel very fortunate to have him as my grandpa (and my grandma of course too).
Grandpa and Grandma playing for everyone! This is how I have always grown up - watching my grandparents play - grandma plays the piano and grandpa sings. Little did I know it has been going on for many years before me because this is exactly how everyone else remembers them as well.
